Beck Releases Mash-up from New DJ Project

It has been a few years since Beck’s launching of The Information and hits like 'I think I’m in Love' and 'Nausea' filtered through the radio, but he has certainly kept himself busy. Beck’s project, Record Club, comprises of himself and friends covering albums in one day. He’s already got Velvet Underground’s first record notched on his belt. The artist has recently disclosed yet another project, Planned Obsolescence, a weekly DJ set. There is very little stated about this addition to Beck’s work. All he has remarked on it is that he and unnamed friends are getting things in order, and when us listeners get to see the end result, enjoy. The only taste of this new DJ set that he has leaked is Autobahn Hologram. This mix possesses messy jumbles of instrumental sounds, random electronic components, along with the nonchalant vocals, which gives Beck fans something to look forward to.
Jens Lekman Dies From Swine…Just Kidding

You probably thought the hype of the swine flu was all over, but just you wait… There are still cases of good old H1N1, such as Jens Lekman. Don’t worry, though. We won’t lose yet another beloved celebrity, folks.
Jens Lekman boarded a plane from South America crossing the Atlantic when he started not feeling so hot. On his blog, he jokes about the hysteria of swine flu and how fellow passengers practically shunned him and gave him the stink eye when they realized how ill he was. Jens Lekman is quarantined for the next ten days, putting his tour on hold. In Your Speakers wishes you a fast recovery, Jens Lekman...just don’t come near us for a bit.

One of indie rock's freshest sounding groups puts out their most irresistibly catchy and enjoyable album to date.
Future of the Left: Travels With Myself and Another

Hard, fast and Angry. The new record from Future of the Left shows that Andy Falkous and the crew have no intentions of burning out any time soon - sophomore slump be damned!
Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band: Outer South

Outer South is a far cry from the earlier work of Conor Oberst. This time around, he and the Mystic Valley band have produced a record about the ye old notion of takin' it easy and enjoying the ride.
British Sea Power: Man of Aran

This entirely instrumental soundtrack recorded for the re-release of a decades-old documentary is a clear deviation from the rest of this UK-based indie band's discography. And, while its not an earth-shattering record, Man of Aran certainly has it's moments.
Show Review: The Juar Club @ The Annex

The Annex is a pretty small venue for a band with any repute to play in. So when the Jaguar Club played on June 25th, I entered figuring that the place would fill up fast. Of course, I was being naïve, as it was 7pm on a Thursday night. This might have not been the worst thing for the band, especially considering that they were using a new guitarist for the first time. The Jaguar Club is made up of musicians from all over the country, but they are currently based out of New York City. They have a sound that is similar to some of the best bands of the 80’s, namely The Smiths and REM. However, listening to their recorded music can’t possibly provide an experience as thrilling or just plain fun as seeing them live.
